Earth's and Planetary Interiors: Observations and Numerical Models of Paleomagnetism and Planetary Magnetism

Supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China and Chinese Academy of Sciences, the second BEPIS (the Beijing Earth’s and Planetary Interior Symposium) has took place at Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing.

The primary aim of the 2^ndInternational Symposium was to bring scientists in different disciplines—experimental, observational, theoretical and numerical—together for further understanding the origin, structure and variations of the Earth’s and planetary magnetic fields. We invited contributions to this multidisciplinary symposium; topics included the behaviour of the Earth’s ancient and current magnetic fields, the methodologies and theories of paleomagnetic studies, the dynamics of the Earth’s and planetary deep interior, interactions of the core and lower mantle, and the theories and numerical simulations of the Earth’s planetary dynamos. The symposium provided a stimulating interaction between researchers in various areas of the subject. There would be about 30 invited talks covering all the major areas of the subject.

The conference has no registration fee.
